Restore National Park Service staffing, protect natural treasures

To: Sen. Cruz, Rep. Fletcher, Pres. Trump, Sen. Cornyn

From: A verified voter in Houston, TX

March 10

The Trump administration's sudden firing of 1,000 full-time National Park Service employees raises serious concerns about the ability to properly maintain and operate our national parks. These parks belong to all Americans and are natural treasures that must be preserved for future generations. With reduced staffing levels, we can expect shorter visitor center hours, delays in trail and facility maintenance, potential public safety risks, and an overall diminished experience for the millions who visit these parks annually. This abrupt downsizing seems to prioritize arbitrary budget cuts over responsible stewardship of our cherished parklands. As a concerned citizen, I urge you to reconsider this misguided policy and restore adequate staffing and funding to the National Park Service. Our national parks are irreplaceable assets that require care and investment, not reckless cutbacks that jeopardize their long-term viability. Please act to protect these natural wonders and the guest experience they provide.
