I’m writing you to voice my strong opposition to three bills; AB1127, SB704, and AB1263. The effect of these bills stand to hurt only law abiding gunowners and enthusiasts while having little to no effect on criminals and those who illegally manufacture firearms for sale. To make matters worse, it makes California an even bigger pariah state to members of the firearms industry, and Californians will likely see many such vendors refuse to do business with them, drastically hurting local businesses. At a time of heightened political tension and rise in extremism, especially towards people of color and the LGBTQ community, these bills that aim to disarm law abiding citizens are draconian in nature and grossly unconstitutional. I implore you to reject these bills outright.
