This note is about Signalgate: for me, even more than the involuntary inclusion of a journalist, the fact that none of the participants in this exercise even thought of asking “Why are we doing this on Signal?” is the most egregious aspect. It shows that they are comfortable communicating on Signal on their personal devices. This aspect of the scandal is very serious. Please ask the question “Is the use of Signal on personal devices so common that members of the Trump administration take it for granted?” And keep asking until we get a believable answer. Demand an investigation along this question.
