Reject discriminatory bathroom bill, uphold equality and dignity

To: Rep. Gutierrez, Rep. Mathis, Sen. Sundareshan, Gov. Hobbs

March 7

SB1003: Discriminatory Bathroom Policy This proposed legislation SB1003 raises serious concerns about discrimination and violations of privacy rights. Forcing individuals to use facilities that do not align with their gender identity perpetuates harmful stereotypes and promotes an unwelcoming environment. Such laws contribute to the marginalization of transgender and non-binary individuals, negatively impacting their mental health and ability to fully participate in society. There is no credible evidence that allowing people to use restrooms matching their gender identity poses any threat to public safety. Instead, this bill SB1003 legalizes discrimination under the guise of promoting privacy. I urge you to reject this misguided measure and uphold the values of equality, dignity, and respect for all people.
