You and your Republican colleagues own these tariffs. This is the largest tax increase in America’s history. Wall Street has made it clear what they think about them. People are now losing value in their retirement at the same time they are being laid off. You have helped destroy an economy that was the envy of the world just a few months ago. Even your most fierce cult supporters will start turning soon. You have the power to change things, but you have chosen politics over the people you are supposed to be serving. It is never too late to do the right thing, but history will likely only remember you for your cowardice.
