I urge you to reconsider supporting expansive voucher programs that siphon money away from the public education system in Georgia. The evidence from Arizona shows they do more harm than good, especially for the most vulnerable students. Arizona's universal voucher system has blown a massive $1.4 billion hole in the state's budget this year, leading to severe cuts in critical areas like water infrastructure, highway repairs, and community colleges that will harm all Arizonans. Rather than improving outcomes for underprivileged students, the voucher funds overwhelmingly benefit families who could already afford private school tuition, exacerbating inequality. Georgia should invest in improving its public schools for all children instead of defunding them through private subsidies for the few.
