Tomorrow March 20 ... DOGE will dismantle the tiny agency of the Institute of Museum and Library Services. This tiny agency .. provides funding for Libby (audiobooks) Kanopy (streaming video service) and Ebooks for public libraries across the country. Libraries are so valuable to shut-ins, seniors and the disabled as well as rural communities...I do not know how I would have survived the death of my Dad and now again taking care of my 93 year old Mother. I belong to 5 different libraries so I can read and learn via the Libby App. I have to pay to belong for some, but others remain free. I worked as an RN for 40 years. I retired 3 years ago and because of my duties caring for Mom, my books keep me alive. To defund something that only pays about 75 people but serve so many is egregious. I ask that you get a hold of your selves and your comrades and stop hurting us. Stop ruining what isn't broken. I know they want to keep us dumb and illiterate, because then we can't fight back. Do your job that I elected you to do. Stop ruining every thing for people who have zilch. Andrew Carnegie built libraries around the country to educate. And Republicans are dismantling public schools and libraries. Save the IMLS!!!
