Stop Government Overreach—Deporting Without a Trial? This Must Be Stopped

To: Sen. Peters, Pres. Trump, Sen. Slotkin, Rep. Walberg

From: A constituent in Adrian, MI

March 24

I’m writing to express deep concern about the Trump administration’s use of the Alien Enemies Act to deport Venezuelan immigrants without due process. This centuries-old law is being twisted to justify a dangerous and unconstitutional practice: arresting people, denying them a hearing, and deporting them—without any opportunity to defend themselves. These individuals are being labeled as threats without evidence, denied legal counsel, and sent to dangerous conditions abroad with no recourse. This is not just an immigration issue. It’s a civil liberties issue. If the government can take away due process from one group, it can do it to anyone. That should alarm every American, regardless of political affiliation. I urge you to speak out and act immediately to: • Oppose the use of the Alien Enemies Act to circumvent due process • Demand transparency and accountability from the administration • Support legislation that reaffirms due process protections for all Unchecked government power erodes the foundations of our democracy. Please stand up for the Constitution and the rights of all people.
