Today Donald Trump initiated tariffs across the board. All economist agree that this will slow down if not damage the US economy. It also may possibly set us into a global recession. This was allowed because Congress aggregated its responsibilities in allowing the president to declare and maintain a national emergency. There is no national emergency, except the fact that Donald Trump was reelected. It is imperative that enough senators, join the Democrats to pass legislation declaring that there is no such national emergency. The refusal to do so means you have relinquished your constitutional and patriotic duties to protect not only your state citizens, but all citizens of this nation. One would’ve thought after Cory Booker’s 25 hour holding of the Senate floor, at least Senator Tillis would take the risk. I had very much hoped. The economic consequences are going to be severe on top of all the current Elon Musk job losses within the Federal Government. The lack of courage is so hard to witness let alone accept.
