The President has continued to impose tariffs on much of the world while other countries promise to impose retaliatory tariffs! Some countries, like Canada, want to move away from doing trade with us altogether and I suspect many other countries will move away from doing trade with us as well. Meanwhile our lives will become much harder! Tariffs are taxes consumers pay and we will be paying more in groceries, goods and cars! The President has stated this will push Americans to buy American goods! The problem however is that we have lived in a global economy so imports and exports are part of American business! Most car parts come through Canada including American cars! Lumber has come from Canada etc…. To build infrastructure for all American products takes time! Meanwhile myself and everyone I know will struggle even more than we already are! All of this while our social security is threatened, Medicaid and Medicare are on the chopping block and we all wonder how we will survive! We are alienating all of our allies but cozying up to Russia! Please know as our lives get harder, we notice that you defend what’s happening! We notice you don’t speak up for us! We notice you turn on the very judicial system that is attempting to hold up the rule of law that you swore to serve! As our lives get increasingly hard and we likely head into a recession, we will not forget your silence! We will notice you don’t speak up for us! We will note that you had the power to stop this and you didn’t! Instead you supported large tax cuts for billionaires! We voted you in to serve Oklahomans- not billionaires! We voted you in as you swore to uphold the constitution- not billionaires! If you can’t find a way to represent Oklahomans, then we won’t make the mistake of voting you in again!
