The proposed continuing resolution bill poses a severe threat to the well-being of Black communities and working families by slashing funding for vital social programs and public services. This regressive legislation prioritizes tax cuts for the wealthiest individuals and corporations over essential investments in education, healthcare, housing, and economic development initiatives that support marginalized groups. We cannot allow further disinvestment and neglect of the very communities most impacted by systemic inequities. It is imperative that Congress rejects this harmful bill and instead champions policies that uplift and empower historically disadvantaged populations. A truly equitable society requires a robust social safety net and a fair tax structure that holds the ultra-wealthy accountable while bolstering opportunities for those facing structural barriers. The continued pursuit of trickle-down economics has proven disastrous, exacerbating racial and economic disparities. It is time to change course and enact an agenda centered on racial and economic justice.
