DO NOT DETAIN INDIVIDUALS FOR EXERCISING THEIR FREEDOM OF SPEECH

To: Sen. Schumer, Sen. Gillibrand, Rep. Morelle

From: A constituent in Scottsville, NY

March 27

The detainment of visa-holding individuals as retribution for their exercising of their freedom of speech, one of the most sacred freedoms, in this count ry is unconscionable. The recent detainments of parties such as Rumeysa Ozturk and Mahmoud Kalil is un-American hostility. These actions should be widely condemned. No government agency should be given leave to act in this way. It is barbaric and disgusting. Our country can do better in exercising tolerance of opinions. I urge you to consider taking measures against allowing government agencies to effectively become forces of censorship through abduction. Stop this madness. This is not how a free country's government should act.
