I am writing to express my outrage over President Trump’s approach to reducing the national debt—a plan that is not only reckless but outright immoral. There are responsible ways to address fiscal challenges, including closing tax loopholes and ensuring the wealthiest Americans contribute their fair share. Instead, Trump and his allies are deliberately targeting the most vulnerable—gutting Social Security, slashing Medicaid, and taking food and healthcare away from children—all to protect the obscene wealth of the richest individuals in this country.
It is indefensible to force struggling Americans to bear the burden of debt reduction while billionaires and corporations enjoy massive tax breaks. This is not fiscal responsibility; it is cruelty disguised as policy. The deliberate underfunding and dismantling of Social Security—at a time when more Americans are retiring than ever before—exposes the true goal: to break a system that millions rely on, creating an artificial crisis that paves the way for privatization and deeper cuts.
I urge you to take a stand against this assault on working-class and elderly Americans. Cutting essential programs is not a solution—it is a betrayal of the people who built this country. I expect you to fight for policies that protect Social Security, Medicaid, and the basic dignity of all Americans, rather than catering to the greed of the ultra-wealthy.
