Scrutinize DOGE operations, ensure public protections and oversight

To: Sen. Kennedy, Sen. Cassidy, Rep. Carter

From: A verified voter in New Orleans, LA

March 30

A few weeks ago 20 non political Civil Service employees resigned from DOGE citing concerns about the agency and its efforts to dismantle the federal government. These resignations shine a light on the significant concerns surrounding the operations of the Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE) under Elon Musk's leadership. The mass exodus of experienced technologists from this office raises red flags about its ability to execute its mission responsibly and effectively. Dismantling critical public services and compromising sensitive data and systems would put millions of Americans at risk. Protecting citizens' privacy, security, and access to vital government resources must be the top priority. A thorough review of DOGE's practices and adherence to legal and ethical standards is warranted to uphold public trust and safeguard democratic principles. Undue influence by unelected private individuals over essential government functions warrants scrutiny and oversight.
