I’m writing to demand I'm calling to demand that you protect the Social Security Administration from DOGE’s workforce cuts and office closures that will put the benefits of over 72 million Americans at risk. To ensure people continue getting their benefit checks and assistance, it’s critical that you refuse to pass any budget or spending bill that doesn’t restore the SSA to full working capacity and re-open shuttered offices. It’s not enough to say that you aren’t going after Social Security checks when it is clear to anyone who thinks that the efforts to dismantle the Social Security infrastructure can only lead to its collapse. The American people won’t stand for attempts to ” privatize” this incredibly effective and long-standing anti-poverty program just so a few billionaires can profit from its ruins.
