Reject dismantling education department, protect student loan programs

The proposal to dismantle the Department of Education is illegal and will devastate access to quality education for millions of Americans. Transferring oversight of student loans to the Small Business Administration, which is already being downsized, makes it impossible to properly manage this critical program, jeopardizing opportunities for borrowers. Moving special education under Health and Human Services will unquestionably result in students with disabilities losing vital resources and support tailored to their learning needs. These draconian changes cannot be allowed to proceed and will only further marginalize vulnerable populations relying on public education's commitment to equity and support services. Reject this reckless plan that trades away the futures of our nation's students. I implore my representatives - what exactly are you going to do to stop this injustice?
