America Deserves Better: A Call for Action and Accountability

March 26
I am writing to you today as a deeply concerned American citizen. Over the past several weeks, our nation has faced yet another wave of government leaks, leadership failures, and blatant political distractions. While our country grapples with real issues—economic disparity, attacks on fundamental rights, and the erosion of our democratic principles—our leaders continue to deflect responsibility by scapegoating vulnerable communities instead of providing real solutions. Rather than addressing the root causes of our struggles, political leaders have resorted to demonizing the LGBTQIA+ community and blaming undocumented immigrants for the nation’s problems. These are deliberate distractions designed to divide us, fueling fear and hate instead of offering meaningful policy solutions. Meanwhile, proposals to cut Social Security, veterans’ benefits, and reproductive rights continue, leaving millions of Americans in fear for their futures. These actions do not strengthen our country—they serve only to consolidate power among the wealthy and privileged while leaving the rest of us struggling. Furthermore, agencies like ICE have become one of the clearest signs of government-sanctioned oppression, tyranny, and systemic hate. The targeting of immigrants under the guise of “security” has led to gross human rights violations, all while ignoring the real economic and political forces driving hardship in our country. Rather than criminalizing people seeking a better life, we should be holding accountable those in power who have allowed corruption, corporate greed, and political dysfunction to go unchecked. This is not leadership. It is a betrayal of the American people. The actions taken by those in power have made the rich richer, the poor poorer, and emboldened those who seek to divide us through bigotry and fear. Our republic and democracy are at risk, and I fear that if accountability is not enforced, we may soon lose them entirely. I am not writing to complain—I am writing to demand action. We need transparency. We need accountability for those who misuse their positions of power. We need leaders who will work for the people, not against them. The American people deserve better than to be ignored, manipulated, and left behind. I urge you to take a stand. Demand investigations where necessary, call for ethical governance, and reject policies that strip Americans—and those who seek refuge here—of their rights and dignity. We cannot afford to be silent, and neither can you. I look forward to your response and, more importantly, to your action.
