Unsurprisingly, the cuts to Medicaid and SNAP, which would clearly have a huge negative impact on individuals, will also have a huge negative impact on the economy of the state as a whole. Republicans haven’t figured out that a lot of money that goes to impoverished people also has a huge benefit to all the people around them. Also, in the case of SNAP benefits, a benefit to our enormous agricultural sector. So blowing up the individual economies also blows up our own. I am tired of this administration and this Republican congress repeatedly punching ourselves in the face in absolutely preventable and avoidable ways, while also just being hurtful to be hurtful. Jesus fed the hungry and healed the sick. I would like us to do so, too.
