To: Gov. Cox
From: A constituent in South Jordan, UT
March 12
I am writing today as a constituent. I am very concerned about a lot of the recent legislation pushed through in Utah. I feel like Utah and the Republican party are becoming the "deep state" so often talked about. It really feels like a lot of the legislation is designed to control citizens and make it more difficult for us to have any effect on our own local government. Which directly goes against what I thought the Republican party stood for. Only now maybe the Republicans are the party of Trump. Utah already has a very robust initiative process. And since 1952, only seven initiatives have made it through which shows very well that the current pro cess is already very selective. ady vigorous process undermines the efforts of citizens, and alienates them. However, adding additional restrictions to an alre We as citizens have a constitutional right to have a say in our laws. Do not take that away from us. Veto SB 73. Thank you
