Thank you for your work, and for listening

To: Rep. Cohen

From: A constituent in Bartlett, TN

March 11

Thank you for working on behalf of your constituents, and of all Americans. I just read your latest enewsletter, and wanted to write to express my gratitude. It has been a trying time, seeing the destruction wrought by this administration in such a short time. But reading about your efforts to combat injustices, correct disinformation, and provide protections for vulnerable people has encouraged me in my own small efforts to preserve democracy. Thank you for working with Rep. Duckworth to protect children on buses. And thank you for advocating for horses, by working to end horse soring. As an equestrian and animal-lover, your work in animal welfare is especially meaningful to me. Keep up the good work! This is how big change is made, many faithful acts of goodness, by everyday folks as well as by leadership. I hope to see you some day at a town hall during a recess. I know you recently spoke with federal employees impacted by layoffs. Knowing that you are listening to your constituents is a very powerful demonstration of care. I truly believe this has the potential to reach folks who may not typically vote blue. If people see Republicans running away from town halls, acting against the people’s interests, and avoiding accountability; as Democrats amplify the voices of the people they represent, people will grow even more motivated to vote out harmful officials in our next elections. Republicans may have “waste, fraud, and abuse” as a catch phrase. But Democrats can cry “tariffs, taxes and terminations!” Sincere thanks to you and your staff! Do not grow weary in doing good.
