Vote NO for HB2007. The current budget for K-12 education and special education is not acceptable. I ask that you oppose HB 2007 unless it is amended to include an increase in special education and restores current year funding for important K-12 programs that were cut during the budget process — CTE (student transportation for technical programs), teacher mentorship programs, teacher professional development, and Safe and Secure Schools. School budgets are already stretched thin as districts must pull funds from general education to make up the shortfall of funding for mandated SPED services. Thank you.
