I implore you to subpoena RFK Jr to answer for his alarmingly incompetent and malicious actions after only a short time in office: Cancelling the meeting to decide the strains for next year's flu vax. Posting tone-deaf holiday snaps less than a month after taking up his post while a measles epidemic raged and spread throughout the country. He promised in his hearings to maintain vaccine schedule advice but that info has been scrubbed from public website. Now he wants to do research on vaccines and autism: a quack theory that has been thoroughly discredited. An egregious waste of taxpayers’ contributions (and revolting in the face of dismantling government agencies under the guise of ‘waste and fraud’ prevention.) It is also sure to weaken the public’s already unwarranted shaky confidence in vaccine safety. Shockingly, RFK Jr has claimed of the entirely safe MMR vaccine: ‘There are adverse events from the vaccine. It does cause deaths every year. It causes all the illnesses that measles itself cause.’ This is vile- a brazen and completely disproven lie designed to dissuade parents from making a decision that would save their own children’s lives as well as vulnerable people around them. He also callously dismissed measles death as ‘routine’ and insinuatingly speculated with no evidence whatsoever that the dead child must have had ‘poor nutrition and lack of exercise’. Nauseating callousness and victim blaming, a grievous insult to the dead children and to their parents. Twenty-five years ago measles was eradicated. Now it is present in numerous states and has now even reached my own city. This is to say nothing of his misinformed and threatening attacks on ssri antidepressants and adhd medications (he ‘treated’ his own with heroin!) which have saved and continued to save lives including those of my loved ones. He has claimed these are ‘addictive’ and even advocated for ‘wellness farms’ where ‘addicts’ of these medications would toil in organic vegetable fields being ‘reparented’, ‘with no access to screens or devices.’ For years at a time. This is horrifying and a common tactic of authoritarian regimes to punish dissidents, as disgusting as any soviet or communist Chinese ‘re-education centres’. It also reeks of ableism something the current administration has eagerly adopted. This man’s sordid personal life and warnings from his own family are also completely disqualifying. This is the man you, the senate, confirmed against the wishes of your constituents, the warnings of those close to him, and the advice of thousands of medical professionals. As your constituent, I demand you take action now using all the tools at your disposal. It is no exaggeration to say that preventable deaths will result from RFK jr's tenure in his post. REMOVE HIM NOW. If you fail to act, the deaths that result from his dangerous policies and feckless public pronouncements will be on your heads.
