I am writing to express my deep concern regarding the role of Congress in governing the allocation of public funds and defining the scope of federal power. As the elected legislative body representing the American people, Congress holds the constitutional authority to determine how taxpayer dollars are spent and ensure accountability in government decision-making. It is clear to the American people that if Congress is no longer fulfilling this critical duty, whether by abdicating its fiscal responsibilities, deferring unchecked power to unelected entities, or relinquishing control over the fundamental structure of federal governance, then continued imposition of federal taxes upon American citizens becomes untenable. Taxation is inherently linked to representation. If Congress is no longer the decision maker on allocating our tax dollars, then the American people are being taxed without proper representation. This principle is foundational to our democracy, and any erosion of this balance threatens the integrity of our system of government. If federal authority is being exercised without direct congressional oversight, it is only reasonable to call for the suspension of federal tax collection until such authority is restored to its rightful place within our democratic framework. I urge you and other members of Congress to uphold your constitutional duty to oversee the federal budget, maintain control over public expenditures, and safeguard the balance of powers that define our nation. If Congress is being bypassed in these matters, I call upon you to advocate for a halt to federal tax collection until transparency, accountability, and legislative authority are restored.
