I am writing to you as a concerned citizen of Colorado, deeply troubled by the direction in which our country is heading under the current administration. We are witnessing an alarming rise in federal overreach, corruption, and attempts to erode the democratic principles that this nation was built upon. I urge you to stand firm against these forces and defend the will of the people.
We cannot ignore the parallels between the current situation and the rise of tyrannical regimes in history. The way in which the Trump administration has consistently undermined the rule of law, attacked the media, and disregarded the will of the people is eerily reminiscent of how Adolf Hitler consolidated power in Germany. Just as Hitler's regime capitalized on division, fear, and false promises to dismantle democracy, we see a similar pattern emerging today—one that threatens the very foundation of our nation.
The ongoing attacks on our democratic institutions, the undermining of checks and balances, and the blatant disregard for ethical governance should alarm us all. These are not just political differences; they are existential threats to our freedoms and our system of government. As political leaders in Colorado, you have a duty to defend the Constitution, protect the rights of the people, and resist the temptation to compromise with forces that seek to destroy our democracy.
The will of the people must not be trampled in favor of unchecked power. The path we are on today—marked by corruption, authoritarian rhetoric, and threats to our civil liberties—will only lead us to a future where freedom is a distant memory. We must not allow this to happen.
I urge you to stand strong, reject tyranny, and do everything in your power to ensure that the principles of democracy, fairness, and justice continue to guide our nation. The people of Colorado, and the future of our democracy, depend on your leadership now more than ever.
