The current attacks on research funding, free speech, and academic freedom at universities will grievously harm Louisiana's higher education system. Louisiana's colleges and universities are vital institutions that enrich our state through education, research, and attracting top talent from across the nation and around the world. The current attacks on higher education threaten to undermine these esteemed institutions and their invaluable contributions. We must take a stand to safeguard the future of our colleges and universities. Allowing these destructive policies to persist would deprive students of invaluable learning opportunities, curtail ground-breaking research, and diminish Louisiana's ability to cultivate a skilled workforce. For the prosperity of our state and its citizens, it is imperative that we defend and support our higher education system against these harmful actions.
