I'm writing this to ask you to stand up to Trump's attempt to rip away SAMHSA funding. The 988 hotline saved my life. I struggle with OCD, anxiety, and depression, and usually can handle it all right, but one day last year, it hit a point where it was just too much. So I texted 988. The kind person there spent an hour texting with me and talking me off the metaphorical ledge, and directing me to resources to help. It's because of them that I'm here today. Please, don't let them cut funding to this life-saving organization. By fighting back against Trump's attempts to slash it, you'd be fighting for every one of your constituents who has ever been saved by 988. Thank you for defending us.
