Oppose the Dismantling of the Department of Education

I'm writing because President Trump’s dismantling of the Education Department poses a threat to public school students — especially in Alabama, which statewide already has the lowest performing schools in the country. The dismantling destroys education as we know it, especially harming students with disabilities, people with student loans, and impeding the protection of students’ civil rights. Because of this, I want you to oppose Trump’s destruction of the Education Department and do everything you can to protect our public schools from being sold to billionaires. Proposed school vouchers and privatization will leave most of our children behind. We must protect public education. Right now, you have the power to protect public schools and students by preventing any cuts to education in the reconciliation and appropriations processes. Please do so. Thanks.
