I am writing to express my strong opposition to HB2 that would establish a school voucher program in our state of Texas. hools through vouchers would significantly harm the quality of education available to the vast majority of students in our community. As a concerned citizen and staunch supporter of public education with 2 children in public schools, I believe that diverting taxpayer funds to private sc Tax payer dollars, public dollars, should not be used to subsidize private education, a choice that parents do not have to make. the separation of church and state. I oppose vouchers for the following reasons: lack of accountability, segregation issues, ineffectiveness in improving students outcomes, concerns about Instead, the state should be leading the nation by increasing funding to public schools. You have undercut school spending for over a decade. Despite a surplus of more than $30 billion, you have decided to starve the public schools. You have a different choice. Say no to spending public funds for private schools and adequately fund our public schools for all children and Texas families that you represent.
