I do hope our schools in Indiana still continue to get Department of Education money even if the agency is basically shut down.
However, I am very worried how our state will distribute those possible funds! Looking at the current state of Indiana’s infatuation with privatization of our public schools, I can see schools like Crawford County Community School Corporation being left behind.
In a rural district dominated by National and State Forests, little industry, funneling of taxes to TIF districts, certified forest properties, etc leave our children at a disadvantage!
We count on the DOE’s funding for almost all our teacher aids. We use their guidance to administer our programs for children with disabilities. If these funds are lost, we will be in a dire situation.
I hope you will support the public schools whole heartedly! This is what Indiana’s Constitution was founded upon!
