Please remove the provision to allow toll lanes in Indiana in House Bill 1461.

To: Gov. Braun, Rep. VanNatter, Sen. Buck

From: A verified voter in Tipton, IN

March 20

Please remove the provision to allow toll lanes in Indiana in House Bill 1461. In the summary of the bill: “Allows the Indiana department of transportation (department) to submit a request to the Federal Highway Administration for a waiver to toll lanes on interstate highways. Provides that, if such a request for a waiver is granted, the general assembly is not required to enact a statute for the IFA to carry out certain activities related to the toll road project.” Everything that pertains to this section should be removed. We have more than enough funding in Indiana to maintain our roads, to the point we are attempting to lower taxes in Indiana. We should not be adding toll lanes to interstate highways when they are our only way to access other towns in Indiana.
