Recent reports on the mistreatment of immigrant women in ICE detention centers are deeply concerning. We cannot stand by while vulnerable individuals fleeing violence and poverty face a living hell within our borders. Urgent reforms are needed to establish rigorous oversight, accountability measures, and enforceable standards for detainee treatment that align with basic human dignity. The current state of affairs is unacceptable and a stain on our nation's values. I urge you to take decisive action to investigate these abuses and implement lasting solutions to protect the rights and wellbeing of all detainees.
