Congressional Democrats cannot support the Republicans' uncompromising funding bill that ignores their input and guts essential programs for working families. Capitulating to this partisan power grab would undermine democracy and enable the GOP's extreme agenda of putting profits over people. Democrats must stand united against this government looting, clearly lay out their principles, and hold firm for a short-term extension allowing good-faith negotiations toward an equitable solution that serves all constituents, not just corporations. Any further concessions will only reinforce Republican overreach at the public's expense.
