An Open Letter
To: Sen. Warner
From: A constituent in Forest, VA
April 3
How many more innocent Palestinian civilians in Gaza need to be starved, displaced, and bombed before you do anything? Before you actually care? How much longer do we have to continue to support a right-wing war criminal who is hell-bent on keeping this genocidal war going so that he can remain in power? Where is your humanity? It’s one thing to advocate for the hostages and go after Hamas. I want the hostages to be safely released and I abhor Hamas. It’s a whole other thing to help a war criminal decimate and starve an entire civilian population. And no, “Hamas steals the aid” is not an excuse for this horrible blockade. I’m disgusted that you didn’t support blocking offensive weapons, but I am sadly not surprised. With as much respect as I can muster, all I can say is that I hope one day you feel shame for what our country is doing; and how you helped it continue on. You put your stance out there in history for everyone to see. I hope this feeling follows you. Shame on you.
And despite all of that, I will keep urging you to change your mind because I believe anyone’s mind can be changed. However, please hurry because the more time that’s lost, the more innocents die from bombs, illness, or starvation.
