I live in rural West Marin County California and I value the farming community here. The freeze on federal funds threatens organic farmers’ livelihoods and climate resilience. We all depend on farmers at the most basic level. Some of them have begun work pursuant to these grants that were promised. Please ensure the USDA upholds its agreements and releases grant funds for the Rural Energy for America Program (REAP) and continues to fund Partnerships for Climate Smart Commodities (PCSC). Farmers need technical assistance and reimbursement for climate-smart practices. Please fully staff and fund the NRCS and FSA to support farmers and conserve our national natural resources.
