Protect Our IRS Data from DOGE

To: Sen. Gallego, Sen. Kelly, Rep. Ciscomani

From: A verified voter in Tucson, AZ

April 3

Elon Musk's organization DOGE is seeking to grant an employee illegal access to the IRS's Integrated Data Retrieval System (IDRS), which contains sensitive personal and financial data of taxpayers. Allowing unauthorized DOGE access to this system would flagrantly violate privacy laws and enable potential misuse of private information for political purposes. The IRS must reject DOGE's request and deny access to IDRS as required by the Privacy Act of 1974 and Internal Revenue Code. Furthermore, a full investigation into the scope and legality of DOGE's attempts to infiltrate federal agencies is warranted given the constitutional concerns surrounding the organization's existence. DOGE's brazen efforts to gain illicit access to Americans' private records cannot be tolerated in a democracy and must be publicly condemned. Protecting citizen privacy and upholding the Constitution are paramount responsibilities that demand immediate action.
