I am writing as a constituent to demand immediate action to block Donald Trump’s executive order dismantling the Department of Education. This order puts billions in school funding, special education programs, and student loan assistance at risk. If Congress does not act quickly, students and educators across the country will suffer devastating consequences. I urge you to: • Publicly commit to opposing any budget that cuts public education funding—no compromises, no excuses • Introduce and support emergency legislation to restore education funding and block Trump’s order. Congresswoman Jahana Hayes has already led the way by introducing the Department of Education Protection Act (H.R. 433) in January—I expect you to support this legislation. • Use every tool available - public statements, floor speeches, media interviews - to expose Trump’s plan and hold Republicans accountable for enabling it.
