I never thought I’d see the day when I’d have to write to my elected representative to ask for something as basic as clean air and water. Yet, here we are. The very essentials of life—air to breathe and water to drink—now seem to require a defense team.
I’m writing to urge you to stand firm in protecting the Clean Air Act and other environmental safeguards that ensure the health and well-being of your constituents. These regulations aren’t just bureaucratic red tape; they are lifelines. They prevent harmful pollutants from poisoning our air and water, protect vulnerable communities, and ensure a sustainable future for generations to come.
Rolling back these protections or allowing exemptions for industries might be framed as “cutting red tape,” but let’s call it what it is: a shortcut to environmental degradation and public health crises. The people you represent deserve better than that.
I trust that you’ll prioritize the health of your constituents over the interests of polluting industries. After all, it shouldn’t take a letter from me to remind you of the importance of clean air and water. But just in case it does—consider this your reminder.
Thank you for your attention to this critical issue. I look forward to seeing your leadership in defending the environment and the health of the American people.
