This just happened. The U.S. Department of Education announced that they intend to fire 50 PERCENT of their staff. This means 1,315 people will no longer support Pennsylvania’s public school students, $1.6 billion in federal funding for Pennsylvania’s public schools is put at risk, and nearly 7,000 Pennsylvania educators and support professionals could lose their jobs. OPPOSE any effort to fire 50 percent of the staff at the U.S. Department of Education
