An Open Letter

March 18

Dear President Trump, I am writing to urge you to push Congress to take immediate action against the unchecked influence of private equity firms, which are hollowing out the American economy and endangering our nation's future. These firms exploit regulatory loopholes to buy up critical industries, extract maximum profits, and leave behind economic devastation. Their unchecked power has contributed to skyrocketing healthcare, housing, and retail costs while gutting jobs, pensions, and small businesses. Private equity has infiltrated major sectors of our economy, often operating with little transparency and minimal accountability. They leverage debt to take control of companies, strip their assets, and leave American workers to bear the burden. Meanwhile, these firms buy influence in Washington, ensuring they continue to operate without oversight. If we do not act swiftly, we risk further economic instability and the erosion of the middle class. You say you have always stood for putting America First—now, we need your leadership to ensure our economy serves the American people, not a handful of Wall Street elites. I urge you to push Congress to close the private equity loophole and restore fair competition in the marketplace. This is an issue that affects every hardworking American, and decisive action is needed now before these firms collapse our economy entirely. Thank you for your time and commitment to protecting our country’s economic future. I hope you will take a strong stand against private equity abuses before it is too late. Sincerely, A concerned American citizen
