Support the Resolution to Block Arms Sales to Israel

The Israeli government's continued bombardment of Gaza, blockage of humanitarian aid, and violations of international law through the killing of Palestinian civilians and medical personnel are unconscionable acts that the United States must not enable. By supplying Israel with $8.56 billion in offensive weaponry amid these atrocities, the U.S. would be directly abetting grave human rights abuses prohibited under domestic and international law. Congress must support Senator Sanders' Joint Resolutions of Disapproval to prevent this arms sale and uphold America's stated principles of human rights and adherence to global norms. Failing to do so would be a dereliction of moral leadership and a tacit endorsement of Israel's appalling cruelty toward the people of Gaza. The U.S. government cannot remain complicit through military aid while Israel indiscriminately kills innocents and obstructs humanitarian relief efforts. Blocking this weapons transfer is a tangible step to promote peace and human dignity.
