I have never been more disappointed to be a Democrat than I am right now. This is our Weimar Republic moment and yet somehow we have the purported leader of our party, Chuck Schumer, ready to write a blank check to fund the concentration camps of tomorrow. I understand your hands are tied. But the *least* you can do is delay, deny, and defy. As a middle-aged, moderate Democrat, I fully support the calls to have AOC primary Chuck Schumer. The Democratic Party has proven time and time again that it purports to know better than its own constituents. As a Federal employee, economic policy lawyer, and mother of two, I can assure you that I *fully* understand the ramifications of this budget proposal for myself and my country. I urge you to stand strong and VOTE NO on any budget proposal the Republicans will offer that doesn’t fully fund DC public services, Medicare and Medicaid, and that doesn’t keep a close watch on the country’s purse strings. Please urge your colleagues to do the same. This is the only leverage we have to maintain some semblance of control.
