Members of Congress must hold President Trump and Elon Musk accountable for potentially abusing their power and engaging in unethical conflicts of interest that put profits over people. Reports indicate Musk may be unfairly benefiting his companies like SpaceX and Starlink through decisions at the Federal Aviation Administration, which awarded Starlink a lucrative contract while canceling one with Verizon. This raises serious concerns about criminal corruption. As a government employee, Musk is prohibited from participating in matters where he has a financial stake. However, evidence suggests his SpaceX personnel are already working at the FAA and that the agency is being pressured to fund a Starlink deal worth tens of millions. Beyond this specific contract, Musk has been granted excessive power to undermine agencies that regulate his businesses while those same companies receive billions in federal funding. This appears to be a clear case of cronyism that enriches corporations at taxpayer expense. An immediate, thorough investigation by the Departments of Transportation and Justice is warranted to examine the full scope of Musk's potential corruption and ethics violations. Strict ethics rules and accountability must be enforced - no one should be allowed to abuse their position for personal financial gain, especially at the expense of critical aviation safety. Congress has an obligation to exercise its oversight role and protect the public interest over the demands of wealthy donors and businesses. Thorough investigations and enforcement of laws is the only way to restore integrity.
