Mr. Amodei, where is your voice? Where is your leadership?

To: Rep. Amodei

From: A verified voter in Reno, NV

March 21

Mr. Amodei, I am writing to you directly to demand that you engage directly with your constituents and answer for your continued absence from public forums and silence in the face of democracy under attack. You have represented Nevada’s 2nd Congressional District since 2011, yet in that time, you have held only two town halls—and none in the past eight years. Where is your voice? Where is your leadership? As Nevadans raise urgent concerns about our constitutional rights, the erosion of democratic institutions, and the future of our country, you have done nothing. Your silence is more than negligence—it is complicity. Instead of facing your constituents, you have openly dismissed town halls as nothing more than an opportunity to “bully the shit out of somebody in public.” You have also said, “There’s stuff we agree with, there’s stuff we don’t agree with, but I don’t need to be screamed at by a bunch of people who are just pissed because I got elected.” This is not leadership. These are excuses from a politician who refuses to be held accountable. Your favoritism toward rural, traditionally conservative communities is blatantly obvious, while the urban areas of Northern Nevada are ignored and left without real representation. The people of Reno and all of Northern Nevada demand to be heard. If you refuse to engage with the people you were elected to serve, then perhaps it’s time we elect someone who will. I look forward to your public response and the immediate scheduling of a town hall.
