As constituents, we have serious concerns about the administration's recent threats toward schools and universities that allow peaceful protests. Attempting to stifle these fundamental rights by threatening to defund institutions or expel students is an unacceptable attack on civil liberties. We urge you to uphold and defend the First Amendment rights of all Americans to voice their beliefs without fear of retaliation or punishment from the government. Dissent and the free exchange of ideas are vital for a healthy republic. We request that you speak out against these threats and work to protect free speech rights across the nation.
