The arrest of the Georgia woman for disposing of her miscarried fetus is a gross violation of human rights and an unconscionable overreach of the law. Miscarriages are an profoundly difficult experience that no woman should face criminal prosecution over. This draconian enforcement of draconian anti-abortion laws is inhumane and strips women of their basic dignity and autonomy. It creates a chilling effect where women may hesitate to seek necessary medical care out of fear. This injustice must be condemned and these laws repealed to protect women's fundamental freedoms.
