I strongly urge voting against confirming Trump's nominee to lead the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. This individual has promulgated the debunked and dangerous claim that vaccines cause autism, despite overwhelming scientific evidence disproving any such link. Putting someone who denies established medical facts and spreads misinformation in charge of our nation's top public health agency would be enormously detrimental. We must have leadership at the CDC committed to following rigorous science and data to protect public health and safety. Confirming an anti-vaxxer to this critical role threatens to undermine public trust in vaccines and reverse decades of progress in preventing deadly diseases. For the well-being of all Americans, this unqualified nominee should be rejected.
