Please oppose HB3. High tuition rates make private schools cost-prohibitive for low-income students. An average private school tuition is $27,000 in the Houston area. This means a family has to have another $17,000 to send their kid to private school, if they are even admitted. So the proponents of HB3 are lying that it gives low income families access to private schools. The families of current private school students are who ultimately get the benefit of the program. Texans tax dollars should not be funneled to wealthier big city and rich suburb families so they get a break on private school tuition. NO ON HB3.
