I'm writing to demand that you support Senator Bernie Sanders’ Joint Resolutions of Disapproval to block the sale of weaponry to Israel. The United States cannot continue to fund and supply the Israeli government while it continues its atrocious attacks on Gaza, blocks humanitarian aid, and violates international law. Sanders has cited the human rights violations of Israel's bombardment of Gaza and blockage of aid into Gaza in his JRD. Additionally, on March 31, it was found that Israeli troops executed 15 Palestinian medics, clearly marked as such, and buried them in a mass grave along with their ambulances. They then plowed it over with military bulldozers. Attacking civilians and rescue personnel and blocking humanitarian aid violates principles outlined in the Fourth Geneva Convention. Assistance to any government which engages in a consistent pattern of human rights violations, as Israel has, is also prohibited under the US Foreign Assistance Act of 1961. To continue funding the Israeli government's bombardment and starvation of the people of Gaza is therefore in direct violation of both international and domestic law. The Israeli government and Zionists around the world have conflated any support for the people of Gaza to be antisemitic. This is not true. Do not allow them to succeed in covering their deplorable actions with propaganda. Stand with Bernie Sanders and let the Israeli government know that the US, for all its missteps, will still ultimately land on the right side of history.
