The ongoing US military operations in Yemen are deeply concerning, particularly the air strikes targeting residential areas that have resulted in numerous civilian casualties. The reported deaths of at least 30 civilians in strikes on homes in Sanaa and Ibb governorate highlight the cavalier disregard for civilian lives in this conflict. This is why the President must be impeached. While the stated objective is to target Houthi rebels, the indiscriminate bombing of populated areas cannot be justified and constitutes a grave violation of international humanitarian law. We must urgently re-evaluate our military engagement in Yemen and prioritize protecting innocent civilians over misguided bombings that only exacerbate the humanitarian crisis. Yemeni families have already endured years of conflict, displacement, and deprivation – they should not also fear being killed in their own homes by foreign air strikes. I urge an immediate cessation of strikes on residential areas and a comprehensive investigation into these tragic civilian deaths to ensure accountability. The Yemeni people have suffered enough; it is time to pursue a diplomatic resolution that safeguards human lives and rights.
