I understand the desire to exert American influence and strength on the global stage. However, attempting to annex or take control of Greenland through military means would be a misguided and damaging approach that goes against core American values of self- determination and democracy. Such actions would severely undermine our nation's credibility and standing as a beacon of freedom. While Greenland may hold strategic importance, forcibly taking control of the island disregards the rights and sovereignty of the Greenlandic people and our ally Denmark. This heavy-handed tactic is reminiscent of the very imperialist policies America has historically stood against. We must find alternative paths through diplomacy, cooperation and mutual respect. Any escalation towards outright annexation or military occupation of Greenland would represent an unconscionable overreach and abuse of power. It would inflict lasting damage to America's global reputation and relationships. I urge you to reconsider this reckless approach and instead pursue collaborative engagement that upholds democratic norms and national autonomy. Upholding our core principles will strengthen, not diminish, America's global leadership.
Furthermore, we should not even be attempting to coerce or convince Greenland to become part of America against their will. If the Greenlandic people truly desired to join the United
States, they would initiate that process themselves through proper diplomatic channels. Any attempts by the US to compel or pressure Greenland into surrendering its sovereignty would be a flagrant violation of their right to self-determination. We must respect Greenland's
autonomy and let them chart their own course free from external interference.
